This Privacy Policy explains how QuizaBee (“QuizaBee”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and apps (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

• Account information — if you sign up, your email address and authentication details (e.g. via Google sign-in). We do not store your password; authentication is handled by our provider.
• Study content you provide — the notes, text, documents, and photos you upload or paste so we can generate study materials.
• Generated content & progress — the quizzes, flashcards, lessons, summaries, scores, and study activity associated with your account (or stored locally on your device if you use the Service as a guest).
• Usage & device data — basic logs such as feature usage, approximate IP address (used for security and rate limiting), browser type, and timestamps.
• Payment information — if you subscribe, payments are processed by our payment provider (Paystack). We do not receive or store your full card details; we receive confirmation of payment and your plan status.

How we use your information

• To provide the Service — generate study materials, run quizzes and study rooms, and sync your content.
• To operate accounts, subscriptions, and billing.
• To protect the Service — prevent abuse, fraud, and misuse (including rate limiting).
• To improve the Service and provide support.

AI processing

To create quizzes, flashcards, lessons, summaries, and grading, the content you submit is sent to third-party AI providers that process it on our behalf to return results. We do not sell your content, and we do not use it to train our own models. AI-generated output may contain mistakes — see our Terms.

How we share information

We share information only with service providers that help us run QuizaBee, including:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and storage.
• AI providers — to process your content and return study materials.
• Paystack — to process payments.
• Hosting/CDN (e.g. Vercel) — to serve the Service.
• Google — if you choose Google sign-in.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, users, and the Service.

Cookies & local storage

We use cookies and your browser's local storage to keep you signed in, remember preferences (like your theme), and store study data for guest use. Clearing your browser storage will remove guest data saved only on your device.

Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. Guest data lives only in your browser. You can delete your account at any time (see below), which removes your synced study sets, progress, and profile.

Your rights & choices

• Access & correction — you can view and edit your study content in the app.
• Deletion — delete your account from your account menu, which permanently removes your synced data.
• Depending on your location (including under Nigeria's NDPR and the EU/UK GDPR), you may have additional rights such as data portability or objection. Contact us to exercise them.

Children & students

QuizaBee is intended for students and learners. If you are below the age of digital consent in your country, please use the Service only with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or school. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate consent; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption of sensitive settings at rest and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
